Clean Lungla campaign launched - Mon Tawang Vigilance


Lungla, October 02 : Lungla joined Gandhi Jayanti celebrations today by launching the clean Lungla campaign.


The campaign is the brainchild of Drema Choikey, a student and a social activist, who was supported by Lungla administration and Foundation of Education and Environment for Lumla (FEEL), a NGO.


 A procession from Manpat market to Moyu general ground was joined by students, public leaders, HoDs and BJP Karyakartas targeted to create awareness on cleanliness and hygiene, hazards of plastics and non-biodegradable substances.


The students of Government Higher Secondary School Lumla performed 'Nukkad Natak' and One Act Play demonstrating the vitality of flora and fauna and ill-effects of deforestation and wildlife hunting.


Earlier, Lungla ADC, Tashi Dondhup briefed the gathering on the importance of Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti, underlining their contributions and visions. He also emphasized on minimum use of non-biodegradable items, proper waste management and environment protection.


Senior Public leaders, FEEL member, Tenzin Saya and social activist, Drema Choikey also spoke at the event.
